Making a Tough Call on a Trophy Axis Buck

From some distance away, an axis buck is spotted peaking from behind a mesquite bush.  After several minutes of watching from a tower blind overlooking the Llano River, the axis deer still has not exposed himself for a profile shoot.   With only the head and neck visible and time running out, the hunter is faced with a tough decision: wait and hope that the axis buck finally steps out into an opening, but, at the same time, run the risk that the axis will disappear further into the brush, or take a long distance aim at the neck and squeeze...
